Visual Art Open
£2,000 prize & London solo show, hardship fund, comic/manga school contest, free colour theory ebook
Hi folks. Phase 2 applications are open for the Visual Art Open - a not-for-profit event open to both amateur and professional artists in the UK and internationally.
The £2,000 first prize includes a London solo show, mentoring, art supplies & VAA membership. Category winners receive £250 & London group show.
There are 5 categories: Painting & Mixed Media & Printmaking, Illustration & Drawing, Sculpture, Photography / Digital Art & Young Artist (16 - 24 years old).
Fees are £20 (£15 for under 24s) for 1st submission and £10 per additional artwork. The closing date is 23rd March.
The Professional Artist Award 2022 is open for VAA Premium members (£9.99 a month) with £1,000 1st prize & much more, closes 6th April.

Creative Scotland Funds
The Hardship Fund for Creative Freelancers opened at 2pm today with £8m allocated in £500-£2,000 amounts to support work contributing to the cultural life of Scotland. It’s open until £4m has been allocated then reopens 2nd March until the remainder has been allocated. See also their Open Fund for Individuals with £5m budget.
The Stephen Palmer Travel Bursary Fund will support 10 bursaries of £500 to support those working in the visual arts sector in Scotland (closes 14 March).
