Space Artist Awards
18 x £5,000 awards & studio space, Andrew Cranston, 11 art competitions open, jobs & opportunities
SPACE will award 18 x £5,000 to visual artists who are under-represented in the art world and those suffering from extreme financial hardship, to help progress their practice at this challenging time. (closes 1st Dec)
Andrew Cranston is a Scottish artist whose work I’ve been enjoying lately. Similar in feel to Peter Doig I’m looking forward to reading this conversation between the two artists. The short studio film below, filmed in April, shows the artist at work.
“The paintings have to treated fairly disrespectfully actually, for me it’s a disaster once I start being too precious… it’s got to be almost in the bin.”
