€30k figurative art prizes, £20k residency, Tabernacle art prize, VAA Award, art opportunities...
Hola! Now in its 12th edition, Figurativas 2023 is an international biennial figurative art competition from the Barcelona based European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM).
A €20,000 painting prize and €10,000 sculpture prize await the winners with various other cash awards & solo show at MEAM, purchase prize and art scholarships.
A group exhibition of selected works will open this October. Unfortunately there’s not long left to enter and the fee’s on the steep side at €40 (entries close 16th April).

Hospital Rooms Open Call - £2,500 fee & + budget for materials & production costs. Cornwall based artists to create an artwork for mental health wards (11 Apr)
National Transgender Monument - £1,000 fee + all costs, open call for individuals or teams to design a new monument in Sackville Gardens, Manchester. Free. (7 May)
Tabernacle Art Competition - £1,200 1st prize, exhibition at MOMA Machynlleth, Wales, theme: ‘Secret’, £17.50 entry, global (16 Jun)

Climate Change Painting Competition - $1,340 of prizes from Taiwan Institute of Sustainable Energy, theme: ‘Green Earth Designer’, ages 6-12 & 13-15, global (24 Apr)
Happy Habitart - Win eco-friendly prizes, invites children ages 4-8 to create the coral reef of their dream, UK & Australia, other countries can enter People’s Choice Award. For every entry a bottle’s worth of rubbish will be removed from the ocean (12 May)

Super Small Ways - 2 artist residencies in Burnley and Hyndburn over spring & summer to develop artworks for community spaces along the canal stretch from Blackburn to Pendle, £2,000 fee (31 Mar)
Collage Poet in Residence - 2 week residency in Sanquhar, a rural Scottish community (6-20 May). MERZ is partnering with Kolaj Institute to offer a solo residency to one artist who works at the intersection of Poetry and Collage (8 Apr)
The Art House & The Royal Over-Seas League International Residency - £20,000 artist fee, 2 month residency for artists who have not yet exhibited or worked in the UK, all travel, living & print studio costs paid, based in Wakefield, global (10 Apr)
Second ENERGY HOUSE 2.0 Artist Residency - 18 month opportunity from July 2023 until December 2024 to make and exhibit new work in response to the climate crisis, net zero research, and the future of housing at the world-leading Energy House 2.0 facilities in Salford. A selection of new work made will also be acquired by the University of Salford Art Collection (24 Apr)
