Artist led show returns, Young Artist awards, Jackson's Painting Prize winner
Hi! The artist led Contemporary British Painting Prize opened a few days ago with a first prize of £8,000, second prize of £2,000 and a generous £400 exhibitor’s fee for each of 12+ shortlisted artists with exhibitions in Huddersfield & London.
Open to UK based artists of any nationality, £20 total entry fee for 5 works - 3 of which will be shown at the exhibition if selected. Get a flavour of the 2021 show below.
This year’s exhibition selectors are Gordon Dalton, Susan Gunn, Mandy Payne, and winner of the 2022 CBP Prize Lesley Bunch. Find out more (closes 30 June).

This Is Gender (In) Equality - 4 x £500 prizes, art exploring gender equality, free entry, global (23 Apr)
The Wovement Contest - design competition for women to design a poster inspired from Swiss Style, 8 selected artists will then design a set of skis based on their poster design, win a Movement Kit (skis, poles, helmet, ski boots, goodies), workshops and weekend trip and your design made into merchandising. Young Botanical Artist Competition - £2,000 of prizes, ages 16-25, free, global (30 Apr)
Sunny Art Prize concern - this year’s show was meant to take place this month but shortlisted artists have been left out of pocket having sent in their work. I’ve removed their listing from our competitions page and advise against entering the current edition (still awaiting a reply to issues raised).

Stephen Palmer Travel Bursary Fund - 10 x £500 for freelance / self-employed people working in the visual arts in Scotland (20 Apr)
