Contemporary British Painting Prize
A prize by artists for artists, how to paint like Bridget Riley, printmaking exhibition, art jobs & opportunities
By Artists for Artists
Hello! You know an art competition’s in good hands when one of the judges is fellow artist Matthew Burrows of @artistsupportpledge. A 1st prize of £2,000 and thoughtful £100 + transport costs for all exhibitors.
While some competitions demand entry fees of £20+ for each artwork, the CBP Prize charges £20 overall for submission of five works. Why five?
We ask for five works to give you a better chance by giving the selectors a better understanding of your work. The selectors will choose a minimum of three works from each of the shortlisted artists for exhibition.
Make that exhibitions in plural with shows taking place in Huddersfield late 2021 & London early 2022. First Prize winner also receives an essay on their work by Matthew Burrows, membership of CBP and the option to be a selector for next year’s prize.
Open to all artists over 18 currently working in the British Isles. Good luck!
