Artist on Holiday Prize
Holdsworth House, Holt Festival, Hockney video, exhibition open calls, art jobs & opportunities
Hi folks. This week features a brand new competition from a ridiculously good-looking location…
On the opening night of their first UK tour the Beatles secretly stayed at Holdsworth House, a family run Jacobean Manor House hotel in Halifax, West Yorkshire.
The newly launched Holdsworth House Art Competition marks their 60th anniversary with an Artist on Holiday Prize that lets you follow in the Fab Four’s footsteps with 4 seasonal overnight breaks for 2 with dinner & breakfast, worth over £1,500. Further prizes of champagne afternoon tea, art vouchers and more prizes to be confirmed.
Under 18s can win vouchers of £100, £50 and £25, more details on Under 18s prizes.
It’s open to all and free to enter. Submit a 2-D painting or drawing (oil, watercolour, acrylic, mixed media, pencil, charcoal, pastel, textiles, ink or digital) of the front view of Holdsworth House. You can visit and take a photograph of the hotel facade to work from, or use an existing photograph from their website gallery. Or pre-book to bring your easel/sketchbook into the gardens. (closes 10th Sep)
