Hi! As Edinburgh’s cherry blossoms whisper eleventh hour plans for this year’s display I’m reminded of my interview with Derbyshire based artist Thomas Lamb speaking of the intensity of Japan’s cherry blossoms at night ‘seemingly emanating their own light against the evening sky’. Captured beautifully in Lamb’s oil study above – a painting which leads MoMa’s archive selection of tree paintings and prints.

Brighton based artist/illustrator Eleonora Kova’s so simple it shouldn’t work technique for painting geometric lines. Due to popular demand (189k likes) Kova listed the materials used as: Frog Tape Yellow (delicate surface painter’s tape), Arches Block Watercolour Paper and Liquitex Acrylic Gouache.
