Hi everyone and apologies that last week’s edition turned into this weeks but I hope it’s worth the wait…
Imagine going on a free trip to the sun-kissed island of Crete, staying at the 5 star hotel (pictured above), eating their amazing food as your artwork (also shipped free) goes on permanent display inside. Artwork which won you a £7,000 award and a further €7,000 to create it in the first place.
Three lucky artists will be selected to do just that thanks to the The G. & A. Mamidakis Foundation Art Prize. Artists worldwide are invited to create large-scale wall-mounted works for permanent display at the Minos Palace Hotel in Agios Nikolaos, Crete. The works will “narrate an internal path/route, and which can be reference points-landmarks within their exhibition space”. Here’s one of the spaces:
Proposals should be designed to cover one of three available spaces/corridors at Minos Palace in its entirety. Artists have until 10th January 2023 to submit proposals. The selected works will be presented to the public in June 2023. Good luck! More info
