Congrats to everyone who made the longlist for the Jackson’s Painting Prize. A well deserved place for MoMa reader Carrie Stanley’s almost luminous painting on metal ‘Safe Light’ – follow Carrie's work on her newly launched
.Isle of Wight based artist Charles Inge (winner of the 2021 Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize) made the cut with the fantastic bell jar painting below. “The bell-jar serves as a metaphor, not only for protection and preservation, but also for the idea that, even in moments of chaos, there is still a sense of wonder and magic to be found.”
Cast your vote for Carrie, Charles or anyone else in the People’s Choice Award of £1,000 + £500 voucher (all voters go into a draw to win a £150 Jackson's Art voucher).
What’s 15 metres long, has 22 colours and uses 650,000 pieces of Lego? Ai Weiwei’s re-imagining of Monet’s water lilies of course. Part of the upcoming exhibition Ai Weiwei: Making Sense at the Design Museum, London. Book tickets. (7 Apr – 30 Jul)
