2 year bursary & exhibition opportunity, environmental art prize & life advice from Nick Cave
Hi! It’s another slightly slimmed down summer version this week so I can get to the beach before the weather gods revert to norm.
At the front of the queue is the Dover Prize 2023, a £10,000 bursary paid across two years to a UK based artist or collective to ‘provide time to think, research, reflect and/or experiment with new ideas, to create work that will be premiered in Darlington.’
Free to enter, applicants must meet a minimum of 3 from 9 criteria listed here (closes 30th July)
The Beyond Future Art Prize debuted in 2022 as a free to enter global art prize based in Hong Kong. The prize “encourages entries from artists who have a keen interest and focus on the environment, sustainable living and climate change in their work.”
Moroccan based artist, Mariam Abouzid Souali, won the top prize and speaks about her work in the accompanying video and article.
This year’s theme is ‘Reflection’, the winner’s prize increases to approx: £3,400 (HK$33,000, $4,200 USD) and is open to all artists age 15 and over (closes 6th August)
The Society of Scottish Artists 125th Annual Exhibition moves from Edinburgh’s RSA to the Maclaurin Art Gallery in Ayr.
